Choosing a 2007 PARTNERS Medicare plan

PARTNERS offers two types of Medicare Advantage plans:

PARTNERS Medicare Choice (HMO)

PARTNERS Medicare Choice was the first Medicare Advantage plan in North Carolina. This plan requires members to stay within a large network of doctors and specialists to receive benefits. The Enhanced Medicare Choice plan includes our most robust medical benefits and is available with or without Medicare prescription drug coverage. A standard benefit plan is also available with Standard Medicare prescription drug coverage.

PARTNERS Medicare Choice is available in select counties across North Carolina. To be eligible for this plan, you must live in a county where the plan is offered. View the service area map to learn in which counties this plan is offered.

PARTNERS Medicare Options (PPO)

Since PARTNERS Medicare Options is a PPO (preferred provider organization), it gives you the freedom to choose in- or out-of-network providers without a referral! While the benefits are similar to PARTNERS Medicare Choice, the PARTNERS Medicare Options plans offer out-of-network benefits with higher coinsurance. In addition, member financial responsibility may be greater out-of-network because coinsurance is based on the Medicare allowed amount and not on the potentially lower contracted amount. One PPO plan offers our most robust medical benefits and one offers standard medical benefits. Both come with Medicare prescription drug coverage.
